Class Project— Packaging design for a fictitious American chocolate company called Matro, short for Matryoshka (the Russian word for grandmother). The concept is based on the unique form of the Russian nesting dolls and features limited runs of hand painted wooden dolls that contain delicious chocolate and treats.
Custom type treatment.
Paper sleeve features open sides that allow the unique shape of the doll to stand out.
Dolls are handpainted and they hold the treat contained within.
Disassembled. With an extra nod to the environment, the dolls outer packaging is meant to be collected, not discarded.
The second concept features a minimal belly wrap, and encourages children and adults alike to explore the chocolates unique form.
